Welcome to The Bayoucitian.

What is The Bayoucitian?

To start, a Bayoucitian is a resident or native of the Bayou City. And The Bayoucitian is a webzine that will be a collection of feature stories, columns, podcasts, videos, and ramblings.

In the beginning, most of the content will be generated by myself and my lovely wife, Giselle Bueno. But the ultimate goal is to have a rotating roster of guest writers, podcasters, and content creators share their work on The Bayoucitian.

Truthfully, this webzine has been in the back of my mind for half a decade.

I toyed with the idea of launching it in 2014 and opened a Twitter profile to nab the account name — but the profile lay dormant while life rolled on.

In the meantime, I covered the Houston Dynamo and provided soccer coverage in the Houston area for MLSsoccer.com and ProSoccerUSA.com, through which I also built professional relationships and friendships.

After covering Houston soccer for two prominent soccer sites, I’m thrilled to continue that coverage for The Bayoucitian under the Bayoucitian FC banner.

Aside from the aforementioned content, there’ll be digital media related to Houmans: The Series, the nine-track serialized comedy I co-wrote and will be co-directing.

There’ll be more updates in due time but for now, welcome to The Bayoucitian.
